What counts as one credit?
One credit = one analysis of any content (article, tweet, YouTube transcript, etc.). Both quick and full analyses cost 1 credit.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits never expire and remain available on your API key until used.
What if I lose my API key?
API keys are shown once at purchase and cannot be recovered. You would need to purchase a new credit package to receive a new key. Your remaining credits on the old key would be inaccessible.
Is my personal information stored?
No. Stripe collects your email for payment receipts, but Decipon does not store it. Your account is identified by a random ID and API key only.
What's the free tier?
Everyone gets 3 free analyses per day—no account or API key needed. Free analyses use quick mode (ML-only, no LLM enhancement). The free tier is funded by the Public Good Pool, sustained by donations and B2B revenue contributions.
What's the difference between quick and full analysis?
Quick analysis uses ML models for fast scoring across all 20 categories. Full analysis adds LLM-powered reasoning for deeper evidence extraction and alternative perspectives. Free-tier users get quick analysis; any credit package unlocks both modes.
Do larger packages save money?
Yes. The per-credit cost decreases with each package tier. You can see the exact cost per analysis listed on each package above. Credits from multiple purchases accumulate on the same API key.
How do I track my remaining credits?
Every API response includes your current balance in the
X-Credits-Remaining header. You can also check your balance directly via the GET /v1/credits/balance endpoint.Can I get a refund?
Credit purchases are final. If you experience a technical issue preventing credit usage, contact us and we'll make it right.
